Looters and Thieves should be shot..

According to local news here in the Tidewater Virginia are.
People had their homes broken into during Hurricane Irene.
At least 15 homes..WTF!
It's a sad statement about the worst of society these days.
If you loot or steal during a natural disaster, you should be shot.

Hurricane Irene damage.

Here's the only damage we suffered at the hands of
Hurricane Irene.
We we're lucky.
There were some unfortunate casualties.
Most could have been prevented.
We lost one shingle and power.
We will rebuild....

We made it through 80% of the storm.
Our electricity stay on as well as the internet.
We started to watch a movie and then- poof!  the power goes out. Killing me..
Thanks Irene...
Well, we have lanterns and stoves and water and basically everything we need..
I really hope the power is on after we wake up...

CheapGeek stupid hurricane tip.

Here's a hurricane preparedness tip.
Freeze gallon jugs of fresh water.
Keep the frozen gallon jugs of water in your freezer and in the refrigerator. They'll help to keep your freezer and refrigerator cold. If you lose power for a day or two, the jugs of water will keep your food fresh. During hurricane isabel, I was able to keep my food fresh for the 3 days I was without power. The water will also be ready for traveling, drinking, and for flushing water, bathing or whatever. If you plan on evacuation, you can leave it in the refrigerator to (hopefully) keep food fresh. Your refrigerators act as a large cooler when they aren't running. Frozen water jugs are your bags of ice.. I plan on 6 gallons..... Having a first and is also useful...

Home Made Dish Washing Detergent..DIY for cheap.

The cost of everything is high.
I think its crazy that things like dish washing detergent is so high.
I can't see paying that much for it.
As I'm a CheapGeek, I found a recipe on the internet that seems to work well.
I decided to put the recipe on YouTube.
You can find many different versions of this recipe and you may need
to tweak it to suite your own needs. Over all you can really save some money.
Try it. Like I said, there's many different versions out there, find one that works for you.
Works Great!

Exterior Light with automatic day / night sensor.

This exterior light will automatically come on when it's dark and go off when it's light.
Each light has a 13 Watt fluorescent bulb in it. 3 of these lights will equal 39 watts.
I'll be using a third of what I was using before.
This should save me some money.
How much?
I have no idea....
