Hurricane Irene damage.
Here's the only damage we suffered at the hands of
Hurricane Irene.
We we're lucky.
There were some unfortunate casualties.
Most could have been prevented.
We lost one shingle and power.
We will rebuild....

Thanks Irene...
We made it through 80% of the storm.
Our electricity stay on as well as the internet.
We started to watch a movie and then- poof! the power goes out. Killing me..
Thanks Irene...
Well, we have lanterns and stoves and water and basically everything we need..
I really hope the power is on after we wake up...

CheapGeek stupid hurricane tip.
Here's a hurricane preparedness tip.
Freeze gallon jugs of fresh water.
Keep the frozen gallon jugs of water in your freezer and in the refrigerator. They'll help to keep your freezer and refrigerator cold. If you lose power for a day or two, the jugs of water will keep your food fresh. During hurricane isabel, I was able to keep my food fresh for the 3 days I was without power. The water will also be ready for traveling, drinking, and for flushing water, bathing or whatever. If you plan on evacuation, you can leave it in the refrigerator to (hopefully) keep food fresh. Your refrigerators act as a large cooler when they aren't running. Frozen water jugs are your bags of ice.. I plan on 6 gallons..... Having a first and is also useful...
