Mess Kit. Check out this cool mess kit from a yard sale.

Omi found this mess kit from a yard sale. It's pretty old.
It's made from thick metal and its durable. The knife in it, is from 1917.
The kit itself is from 1966. It's serious business. It's worth the $3.00.

I like it. Omi did well.

Here's something similar from Amazon.

It's not nearly as sturdy as the old mess kit.

It's about a 1/3 of the weight. I don't think it includes the cutlery either.

It's pretty cheap in price.. 

Mamachurri Bicycle or Japanese City Bike

We picked up this awesome Japanese Mamachurri bike, or City Bike from the Thrift Store.

These things are all over Japan.
Not so much here in Portsmouth Virginia.
I'm impressed at the over all utilitarian design of the bike. It's no nonsense.
It's pretty sturdy and everything is for function.
It's for Omi and she enjoys it.
We just had to fill the the tires with air and make some minor adjustments.

Using an old PC Microphone for a Video Camera Microphone.

I'm using an old PC microphone for an external microphone for my video camera.

I picked up this Microphone from the thrift store.

Sometimes the video camera's onboard mic doesn't cut it.

I thought I would try this one. It's pretty old and compatible with Win 95 and Win 98.

Ha! and now the Kodak Zi8. I haven't tested it with my Canon yet.

But I will.

Cool Rubber Stamp

Check out this cool rubber stamp my girl Omi made for me.

It's stamp she made out of rubber and then carved..

It reminds me of the old wood cut or wood block prints that you'd see in old books.

I like it. She's made some really cool stamps.

You can buy stamp making kits.

Usually they include the tools to carve rubber or linoleum, along 

with some ink and a piece of rubber. 

Amazon has them, price is high, shop around.
