Adventures in Geocaching- We hid one...

We decided to hide a Geocache on the way back from North Carolina.

We were there for Thanksgiving. A little vacation is good.

We chose a rest area and picked an easy spot. It's still a good hiding spot.

One dollar..that's what I paid.
The newer version is the Radio Shack Pro96.

It's a little more than the Dollar I paid. 

I need an antenna for mine. 

Even if I bought a new antenna, I'm still only looking at $12.99

Thriftstore Find- Laser Infrared Thermometer

Very useful tool this thing is.

I haven't quite figured out what I'll use it for.

VW Bus cylinder Head temp or exhaust readings was the reason

for buying it. It has many more uses than that. I'll find them over time.

It's a cool Gizmo..

This geocache finished up the day for us. We found three all together.

These geocaches were easy to find.

Urban geocaches are nice, mainly park and grab.

This is the third time and I'm liking it.

Each time gets better.
Evidently you can buy Travel Bugs from Amazon.
Who knew..I didn't.

CheapGeek Product Review- Dollar Tree Earphone/Microphone

I like the Dollar Tree.

The microphone / earphone gizmo they have, is worth a dollar.

This can be used with the Kodak Zi8.
This one of the few handheld HD camcorders that actually has an external microphone.
I wanted to try out an external microphone and the Sony clone microphone was the way I was going.

When I ran across this one I figured I would give it a try.

Overall not bad. I need to find a clasp and a windscreen.

I'll try to use it more and see how it fares over time.

If you buy one of these, make sure you buy 2.

They may not last. Remember it's a dollar...

It's worth it.

CheapGeek & BenderOak Geocaching Adventure #2 -Swimming M

This hobby is pretty cool so far. Using 2 car GPS's and a  cellphone GPS, only gets
you so close, and by so close- I mean 50-100 feet. Unacceptable.
I've decide to order a handheld GPS. The accuracy should be much better.
As the accuracy increases, my enjoyment should also increase.
The Magellan Triton 400 is the one I ordered.
The price was right. It looks like this-

I didn't pay any where close to that....

Yep- it's worth a Dollar.. 

Amazon has the same one for $7.95. 

If you find one from the Dollar Tree buy two or three...

They may not last as long as you would like...your results may vary.

They do come in different colors, but the colors won't make them any stronger...

Get a couple.... 

If you feel the need to pay more Amazon.com has the same thing. 

Not for a dollar though.

This Tripod is better than I thought.

It's not bad. Especially for the price... I like it.

They serve a purpose.

They can be invaluable, they can also be expensive.

When I find a decent and by decent- I mean cheap,

but with some weight to it tripod, I buy it.

This one is not bad.......for $5.00.

This will be handy for traveling in the VW BUS...

The price was right....

It'll be useful when I need it.
